UNDERSTANDING HEALTH AND NUTRITION
These definitions should increase your knowledge, discernment, wisdom, and thus your ability to set a standard against which to measure your lifestyle and eating choices. My prayer is that it will shore up your commitment to make life-giving, life-enhancing choices that meet these basic criteria.

Health: The condition of being sound in body, mind, and spirit; physical and
mental well being; freedom from physical disease, pain, or
defect; normalcy of physical and mental function; soundness.

Good Health: All bodily functions are in peak condition and at peak performance.

Optimal Health: Resilience, quick recovery, vitality, robust.

Lifestyle: What we put into our bodies and what we do with our bodies.
This includes food, exercise, rest, stress management, prevention, prayer, environments, people, places, and things.

Food: Any substance taken into and assimilated by a plant or animal to keep it
alive and enable it to grow and repair tissue; nourishment; nutriment.

Nourishment: Contributing to health or growth.

Nutriment: (1) Anything that nourishes; food.
(2) Anything that promotes growth, development, or good health.

Nutrition: Fuels the body to perform functions necessary for vitality, health, and existence itself.

Formula for Good Health: (1) Maximize nourishment.
(2) Eliminate waste.

Source of Nourishment and Healing: God and Nature.

Nature: Air, water, sunshine, food, electricity.

Poison: A substance that causes injury, illness, or death, especially by chemical means; something destructive or fatal.
